Verena Majuntke is a professor for Software Engineering at HTW Berlin. After receiving her PhD in computer science researching on distributed pervasive systems, she worked at Bosch for 7 years, consulting factories and developing software for Industry 4.0. As a researcher, Verena has a strong focus on sustainable software development. She is especially interested in analyzing what’s needed by companies in order to transform towards a sustainable software development. In addition, she works on developing methodologies on how to create awareness for software sustainablity. Being a teacher for programming, requirements engineering and software development she is enthusiastiv about integrating the topic of software sustainability right at the educational level.
